WALK FOR HOPE HERE
Homeless, hungry, hopeless . . .this describes so many in our community.  People who are desperate for
change and the chance for a fresh start.  The picture is bleak, but it doesn’t have to be this way.  With the
help of a friend like you to reach out and let our hurting neighbors know you care, you can make a
difference.

Give our hurting neighbors real change and a chance for a new life by walking for HOPE with us
Saturday, February 25th.  Sign up at www.walkforhopehere.org today!

Registration starts at 8AM at the Everett Gospel Missions Women’s Shelter, 5118 S. 2nd Ave., Everett.
Rally starts at 8:30.  Walk starts at 9AM.  For more info call 425-740-2534 or email walk@egmission.org
ESTHER CIRCLE
ESTHER CIRCLE is meeting Tuesday, February 21st at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your "brown
bag" lunch and hostess Eleanor Stubb will provide dessert. Following  lunch and a time of fellowship,
Linda Whitesell will lead a discussion on her choice from the book, "EVERY WOMAN IN THE BIBLE".

We'll end our meeting by packing "Kitchen Boxes" for Interfaith Family Shelter. As a family transitions to
affordable housing, kitchen items are needed. (This is an ongoing need, as the shelter houses up to
eleven families at a time, and the goal is to get each family into a stable job and housing situation.)

We continue to appreciate the help we get from the congregation in filling these boxes, thinking of our
project when you sort out your own kitchen equipment for duplicates, when you downsize or when you
shop thrift shops or dollar stores. We could not accomplish our task without YOUR help! And again,
thanks to Don Palmer for taking on the job of delivering our boxes.

SENIOR’S PETS ARE VITAL
FOR THEIR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
Homebound seniors in our   county who rely on the Meals-on-Wheels program can benefit from your
generosity to help provide good nutrition for their beloved pets.

During the month of February, there will be a collection box in the fellowship hall for your contributions of
dry or canned dog and cat food.  Any amount will help.

The Senior Services Meals-on-Wheels program serves several thousand seniors with low cost or free
nutritious meals and, like all programs, struggles to maintain the program.  They distribute free pet food
when it is available.

This is Prince of Peace’s third year for this pet food drive.  For questions, talk to or call Linda Whitesell at
425-252-1084, volunteer Meals on Wheels driver.  Thank you for your help.

PEACE READERS IN 2012
If you love to read, why not join Prince of Peace LC book club, the Peace Readers? We meet at church every two months on the first Monday from 10:00 AM until noon to discuss the current chosen book. At our December meeting we choose book titles, dates, leaders and host/hostesses for next year. By spacing discussion every two months, readers have a better chance at completing the reading. Libraries, book stores, garage sales, online, birthday gifts, borrowing from a friend are all possible ways of obtaining your book. If the time slot doesn’t fit your schedule, you can still read the book and find a Peace Reader to share ideas. They are usually willing to talk books. You are welcome to one or all six discussions. Following is the 2012 schedule, books and authors, and some of our members who might share ideas with you. Happy reading!
